Global Leadership

Aneth Edward is an advocate in Tanzania, helping disadvantaged communities access quality health care, food security, and technologies that could transform their lives for the better. She became interested in agricultural biotechnology in 2009 after seeing banana bacterial wilt wipe out banana “forests” in the Kagera region of Western Tanzania, where her widowed mother farmed. She earned a diploma in Journalism at Royal College of Tanzania, and was introduced to community development and social mobilization while continuing her education at Uganda Christian University in Mukono. She uses journalism and networking to help amplify the voices of farmers and promote education on biotechnology.”
