Mark is the author of three books. High Tide: News from a Warming World (2004); Six Degrees: Our Future on a Hotter Planet (2007); and The God Species (2011). Six Degrees was made into an hour-long documentary by National Geographic, with voiceover by Alec Baldwin, and broadcast worldwide in 2008.

As a pro-science campaigner and commentor Mark is a frequent speaker worldwide, particularly in the US and Canada. He is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Cornell Alliance for Science and a frequent contributor to the Alliance website. Mark has written extensively in world media on the GMO issue, as well as climate change, nuclear power, and science in society. His new book on GMOs, Seeds of Science, is set for publication in early 2018. Mark resides with his family in Oxford, England. Follow Mark on Twitter @mark_lynas
