Daniel Norero is a student of biochemistry and an assistant in the Laboratory of Molecular Pathology in the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry at the Catholic University of Chile. He founded the movement “Sí Quiero Transgénicos” (I Do Want GMOs), a citizen initiative that aims to demystify and inform about genetically modified organisms, with special emphasis on biotech crops. The organization is currently transitioning to NGO status. Daniel is a columnist for “Latin American Science,” a weekly science and environmental news portal. He promotes critical thinking as a member of the Chilean Skeptical Association, and belongs to Evopoli PRO, a group that develops public policies.”
